MPFC Goes International!

June 10, 2009

Recently three boys from the My People FC squad had an opportunity of their lifetime, and they embraced it with all enthusiasm and passion, making the team and T.B. Joshua proud. Various scouts have come to The Synagogue, having heard of the talented players in My People FC to check out the players and their capabilities. One such scout came from Bodens BK, a top second division team in Sweden who had desperately been seeking new and skilful players to boost their chances for promotion. The scout came and spotted many of the boys, commending them for their skills and technique. The opportunity  first offered itself however to three of the players, Emmanuel, Onazi and Yakubu. The whole squad was excited at this opportunity for them to travel and play professional football. No one of them had previously travelled much around Nigeria, let alone other countries.

The man of God helped the players acquire visas and international passports in a quick and easy process – something that would have taken a laboriously long and painstaking time, had it been that they were alone. He also paid for the flight ticket and gave them cash gifts for their welfare while in Sweden. Apart from that, T.B. Joshua sent one of the church evangelists, a Swedish guy with the boys to take care of them and introduce them to all things Swedish.

On arrival in Sweden, though met by a challenging and bitterly cold climate, the boys immediately showed what they were made of. The very day they arrived, they were tested in a match. Before the end of the first half, Emmanuel had scored 3 goals, Onazi 2 and Yakubu had done some superb assists. The coach quickly removed the Nigerians in the second half to allow them to rest, realizing that they had struck gold. The final score was 7-1, and it was glaringly clear that the three new players from My People FC were a cut above the rest.

T.B. Joshua – The Man Behind The Movement

June 8, 2009

T.B. Joshua is a humanitarian, philanthropist, who, sincerely to be said, is one who spends less on himself and more on others. He has the interest and welfare of others in mind more than himself. This is very clear to see upon a brief assessment of his ministry and activities.

He is the pastor of The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations situated in the suburb of Ikotun Egbe in the outskirts of cosmopolitan Lagos, Nigeria. The SCOAN is a growing ministry that is attracting attention nationally and internationally. What makes T.B. Joshua a topic of much conversation in all spheres is reports of the happenings at The SCOAN, which include miraculous healing, deliverance and accurate prophetic messages. Certainly a justifiable cause for stir, debate and deliberation…

Check out the church website www.scoan.org and the website for his 24 hour tv station Emmanuel TV www.emmanuel.tv.

A major part of the ministry of T.B. Joshua and The SCOAN is supporting the needy and less privileged. Those benefiting include widows, widowers, orphans, students, little people, the elderly and the youth. My People FC is just a small part of the charitable activities of TB Joshua and the Emmanuel TV Team.

A little history…

“When you discover the direction of your calling, you will astonish yourself, you will make a difference in your world.” T.B. Joshua

football2Well… My People FC all started in the latter part of 2008 when a thought and dream that had long been nurtured in the heart of T.B. Joshua was propelled into reality. This dream was to establish a football club that would seek and find young fresh talent, support them financially, emotionally and spiritually so as to help them to reach their goal. The number of very talented young players on the streets of Africa is increasing daily and there is a great gap that needs to be filled in the lives of these players. T.B. Joshua and My People FC plays a part in filling that gap. During those months the church welcomed hundreds of players for tryouts, some of whom were selected to be part of the My People FC squad. Both those who were taken and those who were not were given transport money. They came from literally every corner of the country of Nigeria and some even came from neighbouring countries. Those selected formed My People FC. A rigorous training schedule for the boys commenced as they came together everyday always looking for improvement in their skills. Various friendly matches were arranged and with an unbeaten record, it became clear to see that these players were among the best in the country. With support and assistance, they could go far.

An Introduction…

“Your success and happiness depend on your willingness to help others solve their problems.” T.B. Joshua

Struggling for breakthrough for so long?
Stuck in an endless cycle of disappointment?
Sick of being offered false promises that lead to nowhere?

There is someone who is all out to help. That someone is T.B. Joshua of The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations, Ikotun Egbe, Lagos, Nigeria. He is passionate about helping young footballers succeed with their lives and is determined to help them – just because he wants them to succeed – no strings, no conditions attached. Sound too good to be true?

This is no joke, but the real deal.  My People FC is real and is happening now.

One of the greatest frustrations in life is raw talent wasted or bitterly exhausted on what it is not worth, is dreams that crash on the rocks of lack of support or opportunity. This is the crisis faced by all too many young African players of our time who, due to this, find themselves playing out their careers the way they started – on the dusty streets in their local towns and villages. They could have made it big but for lack of connections and funding find themselves disappointed, often turning to alternative means just to make their daily bread. Those playing today for the national teams are there, not because they are the best or the most talented, but because they have had the right opportunities and met the right people.

The need is great and T.B. Joshua, an ardent football fan himself, has recognized this and embraced such talented young players supporting them morally, financially, spiritually and emotionally, Desiring to be the driving force to propel them to success and stardom, he has established My People Football Club.

This is just the beginning…
